US Uganda Orphans Education Fund (UUOEF) is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2004 with the mission of financing secondary or high school education for high-potential, financially-needy, orphaned students in Uganda. The fund is the outgrowth of the former Uganda Mission Fund, an outreach program of the Church of the Nativity.
UUOEF is primarily a volunteer organization governed by a Board of Directors. We raise money to provide educational opportunity to as many (qualified) students in Uganda as our funds allow.
The Scholarship Program
The UUOEF scholarship program intends to align its financial assistance awards with Uganda Government development objectives which aim to improve future economic and health living standards of all Ugandans.
Our scholarships and support provide hope for the future to economically disadvantaged orphaned Ugandan children who are interested in and able to attend secondary school, and by extension, we provide hope for the area’s economy.
UUOEF sponsors each child through all years of secondary or high school with funds raised primarily via donations within the United States of America. UUOEF supports qualified high school student applicants ranging in age from 13 to 19.
Thus far, UUOEF has enabled over two hundred orphaned children to complete their secondary school education (Unlike primary or elementary school education, secondary school is not government funded ).
Most graduates have continued their post high school education at government funded vocational schools or universities and have become productive members of Uganda’s society and economy. Meet some of our students.
Our Mission
The US-Uganda Orphans Education Fund(UUOEF) is a global partnership between people in the United States and Uganda that aims to provide scholarships for secondary education of children in Uganda, who have been orphaned and are in financial need.
Our Vision
To provide hope for the future to economically disadvantaged orphaned Ugandan children interested and able to attend secondary school and by extension hope for the area’s economy. We do so by sponsoring each child through all years of secondary school with adequate funds raised within the United States of America.
